Jean Yves Blot, direktè Biwo nasyonal etnoloji, pale sou yon ekspozisyon ki pral fèt sou senkretis vodou-katolik. Li eksplike koman afriken ki te nan esklavaj te sèvi avèk relijyon katolik la ak sen yo pou kenbe lwa pa yo, menm pou fè mawonaj ladan l. Blot ak Dominique pale sou koman pwotestan yo konn prezante tèt yo kòm yon fòs ki ka libere moun soti anba vodou a volonte lwa yo -- men Blot kwè ke pwotestan an Ayiti gen yon mantalite vodou lakay yo, tou. Yo pale sou lide « pèsekisyon » nan kontèks ayisyen. Dominique mande si malfektè ki konn sèvi avèk Vodou a ap jistifye pèsikisyon kèk kretyen konn fè vodouyizan. Yo pale sitou sou koman Duvalier te konn sèvi ak vodou kòm yon zouti kontwòl politik ak represyon, ak sou relasyon ant vodou ak nwaris.
Jean Yves Blot, director of the Bureau National d'Ethnologie, discusses an exhibit on syncretism between Vodou and Catholicism. He describes how enslaved African people used Catholicism and its saints to hold onto and even conceal their gods. Blot and Dominique discuss how Protestants present themselves as a liberation from Vodou and the caprice of the lwa -- though Blot believes that Protestantism in Haiti has a Vodou mentality to it. They discuss as well the particular meaning of "persecution" in the Haitian context. Dominique asks whether malevolent uses of Vodou help justify anti-Vodou sentiment among Christians. They discuss in particular Duvalier's use of Vodou as a political tool of control and repression, and the relationship between noirism and Vodou. Dominique discusses how there were also anti-Duvalier sectors within Vodou, just as there was the "ti legliz" movement within Catholicism. Blot addresses the belief that Vodou is anti-modern, a religion of underdevelopment.
