Jean Dominique entèvyouve ekonomis Jean-Claude Paulvin, responsab ECOSOF, sou entegrasyon Ayiti nan KARIKOM nan. Yo pale sou kisa fè pati yon mache komen vle di pou Ayiti, epi si sa ap fè Ayiti tounen yon "dumping ground" (yon peyi kote nenpòt ki bagay jete) pou machandiz ki soti lòt bò dlo. Ayiti pa pwodwi ase machandiz ni sèvis pou l ekspòte, pi fò lòt peyi p ap aksepte ouvriye ayisyen, epi tarif dwanye yo pa pwoteje mache ayisyen an. Kilti ayisyen ka atiran pou touris, men Ayiti pa gen enfrastrikti pou devlope sektè touris la.
Jean Dominique inteviews economist Jean-Claude Paulvin of ECOSOF about Haiti's joining the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). They discuss what being part of a common economic market will mean for Haiti, and whether this will simply result in Haiti becoming a "dumping ground" for goods from abroad. Haiti does not produce exportable goods or services, most CARICOM countries would not accept Haitian laborers, and current customs duties do not protect the Haitian market. Haitian culture might be a draw for tourists, but Haiti lacks the infrastucture to develop the tourist sector.
