  • Richard Coles, president of the Association des Industries d'Haïti (ADIH), speaks with Jean Dominique about the need for investment and the problems facing Haiti's private sector. According to Coles, industry should invest in society (even as, as Dominique points out, it depends on cheap labor), promote manufacturing and job creation, and embrace globalization. Dominique asks about the demonization of the private sector, the political tendencies of the Haitian oligarchy, and the industrial sector's relationship with in the excluded Haitian peasantry, the "moun andeyò."
