Yo pral sèvi ak moun nan zòn nan kòm ouvriye men yo p ap jwenn anpil benefis yo menm, epi abitan yo pè min nan ka fè tè a pa donnen ankò. Peyizan yo fè konparezon ant sityasyon sa a ak destriksyon kochon kreyòl nan kòmansman ane 1980 yo. Pandan Biwo Min ak Enèji di min yo pral kreye djòb, kritik yo reflechi sou istwa min bòksit Miragwàn ak min kwiv Meme kòm egzanp degradasyon anviwònman ak vyolasyon dwa ti peyizan.
Report on gold mining in the Nord department (particularly in Morne Bossa, near Limbé). Why are private companies, rather than the Haitian state, exploiting the mines? The people of the region are being used as workers but receive little benefit, and worry that mining will make the land unusable for agriculture for peasant farmers. Peasant farmers compare the sitiuation to the slaughter of the Creole pig in the early 1980s. While the Bureau des Mines et de l'Énergie claims mines will produce jobs, critics look to the Miragoâne bauxite mine and Mémé copper mine as examples of environmental degradation and exploitation of peasant farmers.
