  • Marie-France Joachim, anciennement à Mission Alpha, et le professeur Lemaître Zéphyr s'interrogent sur l'alphabétisation et comment faire pour que le plus grand nombre d'haïtiens apprennent à lire et écrire. Ils voient l'alphabétisation comme un droit : il est nécéssaire de savoir lire et écrire afin de combattre l'exclusion sociale, politique et économique. Radio Haïti avait convié le secrétaire d'État à l'Alphabétisation à se joindre au débat, mais il n'a pas répondu à l'invitation.

They describe literacy as a right: people must be able to read and write in order to combat political, social, and economic exclusion.
