(00:00:00) Editoryal Jean Dominique sou retou teroris makout anba gouvènman militè a. Makout yo (sitou eleman makout anndan lame) vle kenbe tout pouvwa pou yo menm, epi se peyizan yo ki toujou ap sible represyon sa a. Si, jan Michel-Rolph Trouillot te di, Duvalier te kreye yon leta ki te kont nasyon an, Namphy kreye yon lame ki kont nasyon an. Sèl solisyon se vrè jistis -- ki vle di refòm jidisyè -- ak respè pou dwa peyizan yo, 1988-10-12 (00:12:19) Editoryal Jean Dominique sou "kou teyat" demantèlman Fò Dimanch lan reprezante, pandan sendika, òganizasyon sosyete sivil, ak lòt moun pran lari 13 oktòb pou manifeste kont desizyon kongregasyon salezyen an te pran pou mete Pè Jean-Bertrand Aristide deyò. Se dezyèm gwo manifestasyon depi tantativ koudeta 17 septanm 1988 la, lè "ti sòlda" te eseye boulvèse chèf lame yo, lè yo mete an kesyon lejitimite klan makout nan lame a, 1988-10-14 (00:24:52) Odyo enkonplè yon konferans pou laprès avèk Sylvio Claude, Louis Roy, ak lòt lidè oposizyon an, kote yo defann konstitisyon 1987 la aprè Jeneral Henri Namphy, te resi pran pouvwa nan yon koudeta, anile konstitisyon an. Yo ankouraje tout moun abiye an blan dimanch k ap vini an, ki se 11 septanm 1988, pou montre yo kore konstitisyon an.
(00:00:00) Jean Dominique's editorial on the return of Macoute terrorism under the military government. Macoutes (namely Macoute elements in the army) want all the power for themselves, and peasant farmers are the perpetual target of their repression. If, as Michel-Rolph Trouillot wrote, Duvalier turned the state against the nation, Namphy turned the army against the nation. The only solution, according to Dominique, is true justice -- judicial reform -- and ensuring the rights of Haiti's peasant farmers, 1988-10-12 (00:12:19) (Jean Dominique's editorial on the "theatrical trick" ("coup de théâtre") that the dismantling of Fort Dimanche represents, as Haitian labor unions, civil society organizations, and others take to the streets on October 13 in support of Father Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who had been expelled by the Salesian order. This is the second major demonstration since the attempted coup d'état of September 17, 1988, in which low-ranking "petit soldats" tried to overthrow the army leadership, challenging the legitimacy of the Macoute clan in the army, 1988-10-14 (00:24:52) Partial audio of a press conference featuring Sylvio Claude, Louis Roy, and other opposition leaders, in which they defend the 1987 Constitution after General Henri Namphy, who recently seized power in a coup d'état, voided the Constitution. They encourage people to dress in white that coming Sunday, September 11, to demonstrate their support of the Constitution. They say it is all the better that September 11 is the date of a vaccination campaign, because more people will be on the streets. (September 11, 1988 was the date of the Saint Jean Bosco massacre, in which attachés sought out people wearing white. Exact date of recording not certain, but meeting took place in the week leading up to September 11), 1988-09
