The footage documented Sidney Gamble's trip from Peking to Paoting then to Ding Xian and the Mass Education Movement (MEM) at Ding Xian. There a lot of street scenes: stands selling various goods and food: noodles and bread. A market day in Ding Xian was recorded where local opera was performed on stage; other street performances enjoyed a large audience.
