Discussion sur la réintroduction de porcs en Haïti après l'éradication des porcs créoles par le programme PEPPADEP, financé par l'USAID. Au début des années 1980, une série d'ONG françaises et américaines, en collaboration avec le ministère de l'Agriculture, tentèrent de remplacer les porcs créoles par des porcs américains, sans succès. Les paysans haïtiens furent incapables d'en prendre soin : les ONG leur dictaient la conduite à suivre sans prendre en compte leurs désirs ni leurs besoins. Les invités se penchent sur les projets des ONG, l'intérêt pour les institutions étrangères d'interférer dans les affaire haïtiennes, le refus du gouvernement haïtien d'assumer sa responsabilité vis-à-vis des institutions étrangères et le projet de Caritas de remplacer les porcs haïtiens par des porcs jamaïcains. Discussion of the repopulation of pigs in Haiti after the destruction of the Creole pig. After the Creole pigs of Haiti were slaughtered by the USAID-financed PEPPADEP program in the early 1980s, a series of American and French NGOs in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture attempted to replace the Creole pigs with American pigs that Haitian peasants were unable to take care of. These NGOs were very top-down and did not take into account the Haitian peasants' wishes or needs. The speakers discuss the plans of the NGOs and the interest of foreign institutions in interfering in Haitian affairs, the Haitian government's lack of responsibility in the face of these foreign organizations, and Caritas's plan to replace Haitian pigs with Jamaican pigs.
