Bill of sale for "four negroes namely Judah and her three children...Jincey, Rhoda and Booker" from Richard J. Shelton "of the county of Pittsylvania and state of Virginia" to Richard Jones "of the county aforsaid". The enslaved family are sold to Jones "in consideration of the s[aid] Jones giving up a bond on s[aid] R.J. Shelton" for $550, payable June 21, 1829, "in which Vincent H. and Wesley Shelton are bound as security". The document references another bond for $60 payable June 1, 1830.
