Qin Shiju (b. 1933) is a resident of Jimingqiao Village, Baiyun Town, Shimen County, Hunan Province. In this interview, Qin recounts how her husband and two children died of starvation in 1960, and how a fellow village committed suicide because she was afraid of being criticized for stealing rice of the people’s commune canteen.
覃士菊(1933年生)湖南省石门县白云乡鸡鸣桥村村民。在这段口述中,覃老人回忆了1960年间她老伴和俩孩子饿死的情况,以及村里一人偷食堂的大米被发现,因害怕被批斗自杀的故事。
