Extract from the minutes of Charles Thomson, Secretary of the Continental Congress

Broadside composed of an extract from the minutes of Charles Thompson, secretary of the Continental Congress, taken during the session on December 11, 1776. The Congress recommends all states to "appoint a day of Solemn Fasting and Humiliation, to implore of Almighty God" forgiveness of sins among the military ranks and protection during "this Just and Necessary War." Broadside was printed in Baltimore by John Dunlap.
