Editoryal Jean Dominique sou menas makoutis toujou poze pandan gouvènman Ertha Pascal-Trouillot sou pouvwa. Menm si teyorikman gouvènman an ap ankouraje dyalòg, transparans, epi liberalizasyon, "viris pouvwa pèsonèl" la kòmanse ap fè banda, epi "gan velou k ap kache men de fè" a kòmanse ap kase bout-bout. Atak resan sou ti peyizan, sitou nan Pewoden, montre ke taktik avèk ideyoloji makoutis toujou la. Ostilite k ap devlope ant egzekitif la avèk Konsèy Leta tounen yon konfli ant makout yo ak fòs chanjman yo. Objektif pouvwa obsili toujou menm bagay: kontwole kès piblik yo.
Jean Dominique's editorial on the continued threat of Macoutism during the presidency of Ertha Pascal-Trouillot. While the government nominally speaks of dialogue, transparence, and liberalization, the "virus of personal power" begins to take over, and the velvet gloves hiding the iron fist begin to fray. Recent attacks on peasant farmers, particularly in Pérodin, show that the tactics and ideology of Macoutism are still alive and well. The growing hostility between the executive and the Conseil d'État has become a conflict between Macoutes and the forces of change. The objective of absolute power remains the same: controlling public funds.
