Ricot Dupuy, direktè Radyo Solèy d Ayiti nan Nouyòk, pale sou eksperyans diaspora ayisyen Nouyòk la. Li dekri rasis ak stigmatizasyon anpil ayisyen jwenn Ozetazini, sitou pa rapò ak kwayans ki gaye nan ane 1980 yo ki di se ayisyen k ap bay moun SIDA. Li eksplike koman ayisyen te fè yon kokenn manifestasyon 20 avril 1990 pou pwoteste kont politik enjis FDA ki t ap stigmatize ayisyen. Manifestasyon sa yo, ansanm avèk sipò majistra Nouyòk David Dinkins ak jefò doktè ayisyen, sitou Emile Jean-Baptiste, te resi fè FDA chanje politik li epi retrakte deklarasyon li. Dupuy pale tou sou zafè Abner Louima, lefèt ke pa gen anpil ayisyen ki nan pòs gouvènman Ozetazini, mobilizasyon dyaspora ayisyen kont koudeta a, ak kesyon doub sitwayènte ak patisipasyon dyaspora nan eleksyon an Ayiti.
Ricot Dupuy of Radio Soleil d'Haïti discusses the experiences of Haitian people living in the diaspora in New York. He describes the racism and stigma Haitians face, particularly the widespread belief in the 1980s that Haitians were responsible for the AIDS epidemic. He describes how on April 20, 1990 Haitian people organized massive demonstrations to protest the FDA's policy that unfairly stigmatized Haitian people. These demonstrations, along with the support of New York mayor David Dinkins and the efforts of Haitian doctors, particularly Dr. Emile Jean-Baptiste, ultimately caused the FDA to revise their policy and retract their claims. He also discusses the Abner Louima case, the lack of Haitians holding elected office in the US, the Haitian diaspora's political mobilization against the coup d'état, and the question of dual citizenship and the diaspora's participation in Haitian elections.
