Mr.Chas. T. Holt advocates Gen. Carr for the Senate

Letter to the editor of the Raleigh News and Observer from Charles T. Holt, ("son of the late Gov. Thomas M. Holt...president of the Cora Manufacturing Company, the Granite Manufacturing Company and the Thos. M. Holt Manufacturing Company"), endorsing General Julian S. Carr in his bid for the United States Senate. Holt objects to the "Mark Hanna bossism" he observes in the statements of some newspaper correspondents "claiming the senatorship for Mr. Simmons on the grounds that the party owes it to him", and thinks the the race should be left for voters to decide.
