- Description:
-
Jean Dominique reflechi sou evènman 28 novanm 1980 yo. Li konstate anpil resanblans ak sa k te pase an 1980 ak sa k ap pase jounen jodiya ant leta ak laprès. Makout yo pa chanje taktik, Dominique avèti: y ap toujou envante konplo imajinè, akize jounalis nan kreye ensekrite lè yo rapòte sou ensekirite, epi eseye kase tèmomèt la pou kache lafyèv. Li eksplike rejim Jean-Claude Duvalier te pran pòz li t ap tolere libète laprès pou yo te ka kontinye jwenn èd entènasyonal, li dekri rezistans peyizan yo te fè kont rejim makout la, epi li pale sou trajedi Twa Flè Lespwa yo, twa timoun yo te krabinnen 28 novanm 1985 nan Gonayiv.
Jean Dominique reflects on the events of November 28, 1980, and observes many similarities between the situation between the government and the press nine years ago and the situation today. Macoutes have not changed their tactics, he warns: they are still inventing imaginary plots, accusing journalists of creating insecurity by reporting on insecurity, and attempting to break the thermometer to hide the fever. He explains that Jean-Claude Duvalier's superficial tolerance of press freedom in the 1970s was simply a maneuver to continue to receive international aid, describes peasant resistance to the Macoute regime, and discusses the tragedy of Twa Flè Lespwa, the three schoolboys killed in Gonaïves on November 28, 1985.
