Sermon start time: (Part 1) 0:00:03. Sermon end time: (Part 1) 0:33:43.
The biblical injunction "wait" is no cheap assurance that all will be fine, the preacher insists, but the site of a straining, struggling, indeed painful longing for God's presence finally to arrive, in the midst of life's chaos, thwarted hopes, failed dreams. Nonetheless, because the one for whom we wait does not and will not leave us alone, the preacher calls the hearer to wait upon the Lord like an orchestra for its conductor, eyes fixed, poised to receive direction, and make the music swell.
