Dave Frishberg (b 1933) was born in Saint Paul, MN. A pianist and lyricist, Frishberg participated in loft jam sessions during his time in New York City, before moving to the West Coast. In this oral history, Frishberg talks about his musical development as a young man and his interactions with musicians at the Jazz Loft. Frishberg's gigs with Freddie Greenwell, Zoot Sims, Al Cohn, and Ron Free are also discussed.
