Yo di gouvènman lokal la pa prann responsabilite, li pa fè djòb li paske li pa pwoteje moun Lestè yo epi pa gen lajistis. Moun ki pale nan entèvyou a se Charles Lamartine, kilivatè; Mécène Richemond, CDDP; Gabriel Frédérique, Jeunesse estérienne; Sévère Dormilius, kiltivatè.
Entretien avec des paysans et des dirigeants d’associations paysannes dans l’Estère (Artibonite) au sujet des violences perpétrées le 29 novembre 1986 quand des gens de Gonaïves ont forcé les barricades installées par les habitants de l’Estère pour bloquer les camions qui apportaient du riz importé de Miami, causant la mort d’une personne et plusieurs blessés. Les habitants de l’Estère parlent de « l’invasion » du riz américain qui les empêche de vendre le riz local et les met au chômage. Ils affirment que le gouvernement local ne fait pas son travail car il ne protège pas les paysans de l’Estère et ne traduit pas les responsables en justice. Interview with farmers and leaders of grassroots peasant organizations in L’Estère (Artibonite) on the violence that occurred when people from Gonaïves broke down the barricades against imported US rice on Nov 29, 1986 killing one and wounding others. They speak of the “invasion” of US rice that has undersold local rice and destroyed their livelihood, and claim that the local government is not doing its job in protecting the peasants or bringing the attackers to justice. People featured in the interview are Charles Lamartine, peasant farmer; Mécène Richemond, CDDP; Gabriel Frédérique, Jeunesse estérienne; Sévère Dormilius, peasant farmer.
