Gérard Chenet, poète, dramaturge, écrivain et militant politique, qui a vécu au Sénégal pendant plusieurs décennies, parle du socialisme, des révolutions politiques dans le monde, de l'interférence des États-Unis dans les affaires des autres pays, de l'antagonisme Nord-Sud, de la présidence de Senghor au Sénégal et de son amitié avec ce dernier, des différences et des similitudes entre Haïti et le Sénégal et des possibilités d'échange entre les deux pays. Il parle également de l'héritage de la Révolution de 1946 dans laquelle lui-même ainsi que d'autres jeunes intellectuels (tels que Jacques Stephen Alexiset René Depestre) avaient participé.

Poet, novelist, playwright, and political activist Gérard Chenet, who had been living in Senegal for decades, discusses socialism, political revolutions throughout the world, US interference in other nations' affairs and North-South antagonism, the presidency of Senghor in Senegal and Chenet's friendship with Senghor, similarities and differences between Senegal and Haiti and possibilities for exchange. He also discusses the legacy of the 1946 revolution in which he and other young intellectuals (such as Jacques Stephen Alexis and René Depestre) participated.
