They focus in particular on recent anti-communist campaigns. Jean Dominique asks why poor people and peasant farmers are the primary victims of anti-communist violence (for example, in the case of the Jean Rabel massacre) while self-proclaimed communists, such as PUCH members, are rarely the targets of this violence. The tension between the Catholic Church hierarchy and the "ti legliz" liberation theology movement, and the repressive tactics of the Macoutes that remain after the fall of Jean-Claude Duvalier, are tied into anti-communist violence. Bourjolly highlights the differences between socialists, social democrats, communists, and other groups; Dominique argues that these distinctions weaken the democratic sector and do not adequately reflect the Haitian reality. They then have a spirited discussion of PUCH and its objectives.
