Jean Dominique entèvyouve Minis Agrikilti François Séverin sou yon fwa agrikòl ki pral fèt 1 janvye 2000 nan Gonayiv, pou fete fèt endepandans Ayiti a.
Jean Dominique interviews Minister of Agriculture François Séverin about an agricultural fair that will be held in Gonaïves on 1 January 2000, to commemorate Haitian independence day. Séverin describes the importance of domestic agricultural production and of ending the exclusion of Haiti's rural farmers. The fair also feature cuisine from Haiti's different regions (tonmtonm from the south, rice and lalo from the Artibonite, chicken and cashews from the north). Séverin discusses ways in which farmers and fishers could modernize and increase their production and make more money -- and not have to cut down trees or move to the city.
