Il collectionne surtout des portraits de Waldemar Świerzy, un artiste polonais qui fait des portraits de musiciens de jazz américains. Daguillard collectionne aussi de l’art haïtien, surtout les tableaux qui montrent la révolution haïtienne. Il a un portrait de Charles Sumner qui, d’après Daguillard, représentait le courant anti-esclavagiste au sein du parti républicain américain. Daguillard explique comment il a réuni toutes ces œuvres.

  • Retired physician and art collector Fritz Daguillard discusses his collection of portraits of Black people (famous historical figures from Toussaint Louverture to Martin Luther King, Jr., as well as anonymous figures). He collects in particular portraits by Waldemar Świerzy, a Polish artist who depicted US jazz musicians. Daguillard also collects Haitian art, especially depictions of the Haitian Revolution and its leaders. He has portraits of Charles Sumner as well, who represents to Daguillard the anti-slavery past of the US Republican Party. Daguillard describes how he collects the pieces.
