Jack Reilly (b. 1932) was born on Staten Island, New York. He studied piano at Manhattan School of Music, and later he studied jazz piano and composition under Hall Overton, becoming his longtime friend and associate. In this oral history, Reilly talks about his musical education including studying with Lennie Tristano, attending the Manhattan School of Music, and taking lessons from Hall Overton at the Jazz Loft. Reilly also goes into detail about his work as an educator on Staten Island and his memories of playing gigs in New York City.
