Livingston County Court reports during the June 1865 term on the sales of John and William, self-emancipated men

Summary: Copy of a report consisting of testimony from Theodore Thompson, late sheriff Livingston County, Kentucky, to the Livingston County Court during the June 1865 term. The testimony is in regard to the Court's April 1863 order to "expose to public sale at the Court House door in Smithland, Kentucky on the 4th day of May 1863 on a credit of twelve months a negro boy named John as a runaway slave when and where Loyd Ward became the purchaser for the sum of three hundred dollars". Below Thompson's testimony are various calculations, including for interest over two years, medical bill, and jailer fees. A "copy att" signed by James W. Cade.
