About the Digital Collection
Primarily letters, mostly in the 1880s to O.D. Barrett (Washington, D.C.) regarding financial matters. The collection also includes letters referencing organized labor and the eight-hour law (1886), and Butler's protective attitude toward former enslaved people (1864?).
