Hall from county of Pittsylvania," the first for "four hundred & ten dollars" for the purchase of "one negro slave named Henry" and the second for "four hundred & fifty dollars" for the purchase of "one negro slave named Oscar." Bills of sale signed by a representative of Lee & James on behalf of the sellers. The seller named on the first document may be M. H. Green. The seller on the second document is Stuart Buchannan. The bills are printed with location "Richmond, Va". and the second with "Pullman & Betts, auctioneers, Odd Fellows' Hall, Richmond, Virginia," likely the location where the sales took place.
