Jean Dominique rencontre le premier ministre Jacques Édouard Alexis, qui fait un bilan des activités du gouvernement. Ils discutent de plusieurs questions : la sécurité, la préparation des élections de 2000, le tourisme et l’investissement étranger, le chômage, l’inflation, le rôle du secteur privé. Ils parlent aussi de la justice pour les victimes du coup d’État et des relations entre Haïti et la République Dominicaine.
Jean Dominique interviews Prime Minister Jacques Édouard Alexis, who provides an assessment of government activities under his and President Préval's leadership. They discuss several issues, including security and preparations for the 2000 elections, tourism and foreign investment, macroeconomic problems such as unemployment and the rising cost of living, the role of the private sector, and whether the government has abandoned Cap-Haïtien. They also discuss the search for justice for victims of the coup years (including preparations for the Raboteau trial and the need for the United States to return FRAPH documents to Haiti so that the coup perpretrators can stand trial), and Haitian-Dominican relations (including border control and repatriations/deportations).
